The government has been raising the profile of these issues over the last few years and has now implemented a 5 A Day campaign through the National Health Service and the Department of Health to get the population eating more fruit and veg. Meanwhile, the media has also been highlighting these issues by broadcasting television programmes about improving lives through healthy eating and keeping active.
The 5aDay Franchise offers you the opportunity to start your own 5aDay box delivery in your area. We take the orders through our online system, we pack the boxes at our head office each day and drop them off to you to deliver. You can launch with just one van, delivering the orders that we take online at head office, and build to owning and managing 5 delivery vans and drivers in just two years.
We want to entice new customers for all our franchisees and keep them ordering week after week, so we spend time each week working out what customers will save by ordering their produce from us rather than buying from the supermarkets – it is usually a hefty sum! We also produce newsletters which go in the boxes including recipes, new product lines and seasonal offers.
Our policy of buying locally first, British next and then to import keeps the box contents varied and interesting all year round.
In order to become an ambassador for 5aDay it is important that you understand fresh produce and its benefits to the customer. You will spend a week at head office to learn how we plan and pick produce for our boxes.
You will:
- Meet one of our growing partners to help you understand the world of a farmer/grower
- Learn how to use the unique 5aDay Box desktop application software which enables you to see your customer database and organise delivery routes
- Meet our customer support team that will look after your customers
- Understand the work and expansion plan in detail
- Learn our marketing and promotional techniques
Following your training at head office you will receive full support in your territory. We will help you plan your first routes and help with your local canvassing and promotional activities.
The initial franchise fee is £19,000 including VAT and then we charge a management service fee of 4% of sales. The initial franchise fee covers:
- Protection on your agreed territory
- 10,000 leaflets to deliver in your area
- Stationery and corporate clothing
- Laptop loaded with the unique 5aDay Box application software
- Your week of training
- Support in your territory
- Sign-writing for your van(s)
- Expert help with vehicle selection and advice on financing
The management service fee covers:
- Customer telephone support and call centre
- Website advertising
- Use of promotional show stand and banners
- Sample boxes for promotional purposes
- In-box promotional leaflet (The Grape Vine)
- Advice and ongoing training
- Future developments to increase the market
- Special offers
With your hard work and our proven business method, after achieving a net profit of £52k in Year 2, profits rise to £91k in Year 3 and can build year on year.
£7k of your £19k franchise fee is spent on promotion in your area of operation so that when you launch with your first van you will have enough 5aDay box orders to keep you busy every day.
